شيئان واللهِ ما أمَلُّهما

شيئان واللهِ ما أمَلُّهما

وليسَ لي في سواهُما أَرَبُ

وليسَ لي في سواهُما أَرَبُ

Two things, by God, I never tire of:

Two things, by Allah, I long for them

And I have no desire for anything other than them.

And I have no interest in anything else

فإنْ تَقُلْ ما هُما أُجِبْ وأَقُلْ

فإنْ تَقُلْ ما هُما أُجِبْ وأَقُلْ

بابُ خوارِزْمِشَاهَ والأَدَبُ

So if you ask, “What are they?” I will answer and say:
