    O you at whose appearance the crescent beamed,

    And at whose sight even a denier of God proclaimed His oneness,

    فاركبه هملاجاً أغر محجلا

    A steed of joy has come to you at Nowruz;

    So ride it, smooth-gaited, white-blazed and white-stockinged,

    Toward your wishes; and lend your gaze to all that

    Holds an honored place within hearts.

    A turquoise I have given, seeking blessing

    For you through its name, seeking good fortune and good omens.

    And many a ring-stone has come with haughty airs,

    Then, once it took in his words, it grew humble.
