يا خاتمَ الملكِ ويا قاهرَ ال

أملاكِ بينَ الأخذِ والصفْحِ

أملاكِ بينَ الأخذِ والصفْحِ

O seal of sovereignty, and O vanquisher of the

O seal of kingdom, o vanquisher of

kings, through capture and pardon.

Kingdoms, between taking and pardoning

عليكَ عينُ اللهِ من فاتحٍ

عليكَ عينُ اللهِ من فاتحٍ

للأرضِ مُسْتَوْلٍ على النُّجْحِ

للأرضِ مُسْتَوْلٍ على النُّجْحِ

May God's eye be upon you, conqueror

The eye of God is upon you, opener

of the earth, holding sway over success.

Of the earth, empowered with success

راياتُهُ تنطِقُ بالنصرِ بل

راياتُهُ تنطِقُ بالنصرِ بل

تكادُ تُملي كُتُبَ الفَتْحِ

تكادُ تُملي كُتُبَ الفَتْحِ

His banners speak of victory—nay,

His banners speak of victory, nay

they almost dictate dispatches of conquest.

Almost dictate books of conquest

كَمْ أثرٍ في الدين أثَّرْتَهُ

كَمْ أثرٍ في الدين أثَّرْتَهُ

يقصِرُ عنهُ أثرُ الصُّبْحِ

يقصِرُ عنهُ أثرُ الصُّبْحِ

How many a mark you have left in the faith,

How much effect in religion you imprinted

beside which the mark of dawn falls short!

Beyond which the dawn's effect falls short

وكم عُلاً للمجدِ شيَّدْتها

وكم عُلاً للمجدِ شيَّدْتها

تثني عليها ألسن المدْحِ

تثني عليها ألسن المدْحِ

And how many heights you have built for glory,

And how much glory's height you erected

which the tongues of praise extol!

That tongues of praise bend toward

فاسعد بأيَّامك واستغرق ال

فاسعد بأيَّامك واستغرق ال

أعداءَ بالكبْحِ وبالذبْحِ

أعداءَ بالكبْحِ وبالذبْحِ

So rejoice in your days, and overwhelm the

So revel in your days, and immerse the

enemies through subjugation and slaughter.

Foes in suppression and slaughter

ودُمْ رفيعاً عاليَ القِدْحِ

ودُمْ رفيعاً عاليَ القِدْحِ

ممتنعِ الملك عن القَدْحِ

ممتنعِ الملك عن القَدْحِ

And remain exalted, your lot-arrow high,

And remain lofty, sublime pride

your sovereignty immune to disparagement.

Inaccessible kingdom against harm
