بُليتُ بعلوي الصفات أخي البدرِ

My two friends, indeed, because of my love of loftiness,

My beloved, I have reached the heights of love

I have been afflicted with one of lofty qualities, the full moon’s brother.

Attaining the loftiest attributes, O full moon my brother

فعقد الثريَّا مستكنٌّ بثغره

فعقد الثريَّا مستكنٌّ بثغره

ومنطقهُ الجوزاء في خصره تجري

ومنطقهُ الجوزاء في خصره تجري

For the Pleiades’ necklace lies hidden in his mouth,

The Pleiades shine modestly on his mouth

And his girdle is Orion, coursing at his waist.

While the Belt circles his waist

ووجدي به وجد المكارم والعلى

ووجدي به وجد المكارم والعلى

بسيِّدنا الشيخ العميد أبي نصرِ

بسيِّدنا الشيخ العميد أبي نصرِ

And my passion for him is the passion of noble virtues and loftiness

My passion for him is a passion of nobility and heights
