كعصفورةٍ في يدِ الباشقِ
I would give my life for a gazelle; my heart is with him,
like a little bird in the sparrowhawk's grasp.
لهُhe has شفةٌa lip مثلُlike فصِّa gem of العقيقagate
لهُ شفةٌ مثلُ فصِّ العقيق
تنقِّشُهُengraves it شفةُthe lip of العاشقِthe lover
تنقِّشُهُ شفةُ العاشقِ
He has a lip like an agate gem,
which the lover's lip engraves.
