عَذْبِ إلى عطشانِ غصانِ

Meeting him is more desirable than cool,

Seeing him is sweeter than cool water

Sweet water to a thirsty, choking man.

To a thirsty bough on a spring day

فاقتَرِنا عندي أفدِّيكما

فاقتَرِنا عندي أفدِّيكما

فأَنتُما راحِي ورَيْحاني

فأَنتُما راحِي ورَيْحاني

So come together with me—I would ransom you both;

So my two loves, stay here with me

For you two are my wine and my sweet basil.
