ألم تر أن الله أوحى لمريم

ألم تر أن الله أوحى لمريم

وهزي إليك الجذع تساقط الرطب

وهزي إليك الجذع تساقط الرطب

Have you not seen that God revealed to Mary:

Did you not see that Allah inspired Maryam -

“And shake the trunk toward you; ripe dates will fall.”

And the trunk shook towards you, the dates falling down

ولو شاء أن تجنيه من غير هزها

ولو شاء أن تجنيه من غير هزها

جنته ولكن كل شيء له سبب

جنته ولكن كل شيء له سبب

And had He willed that she gather them without shaking it,

If He willed that you harvest it without shaking,

she would have gathered them—but everything has a cause.

It would bear fruit, but everything has a cause
