ثَدِيُّ أبكارٍ مُخَدَّراتِ

For the ladies, the bitter oranges are like

As though the fireflies are for maidens

the breasts of secluded maidens,

A breast of virgins drugged,

مُزَعْفَراتٍ ومُعَصْفَراتٍ

مُزَعْفَراتٍ ومُعَصْفَراتٍ

أو أُكَرُ الكيمَخْتِ مذْهَباتِ

أو أُكَرُ الكيمَخْتِ مذْهَباتِ

saffron-dyed and safflower-dyed,

Saffron-colored and golden

or gilded balls of shagreen,

Or dissolved ambergris fragments

قد ضُمِّخَتْ بالعَنْبَرِ الفُتاتِ

قد ضُمِّخَتْ بالعَنْبَرِ الفُتاتِ

نسيمُها يَزيدُ في الحَيَاةِ

نسيمُها يَزيدُ في الحَيَاةِ

already anointed with crumbled ambergris;

Dyed with powdered ambergris

their fragrance prolongs life.

Their breeze enhances life
