Revelry has not grown gray, nor has the season of youth faded.
Youth has not faded, nor youthfulness passed away,
Then why does my heart harbor burning grief and sorrow?
So why does my heart harbor sadness and pain?

Sorrow has pitched its tent in a heart that welcomes it,
a wedding for virgin hopes is celebrated every day.
And prepares a wedding every day for new sorrows.

Comes to one whose body misery has worn out.

Much time vanishes wastefully during the night.

In them are pearls—the tears of eyes that have just opened.

To praise you—without your generosity it would be mute.
