أَتَيتُكَI have come to you قَاضِيjudge of البَيَاضِينِthe white people والعَجَمand the non-Arabs
أَتَيتُكَ قَاضِي البَيَاضِينِ والعَجَم
عَلَىَّdue from me حِمَارٌa donkey مَعهُwith it شَاةٌa sheep لهto it تُضمis added
عَلَىَّ حِمَارٌ مَعهُ شَاةٌ له تُضم
I have come to you, judge of the white people and the non-Arabs.
I owe a donkey, with a sheep added to it.
فإِنso if كَانَit is فيin القَانُونِthe law أنيthat I اشتَرِىbuy
فإِن كَانَ في القَانُونِ أني اشتَرِى
حماراًa donkey بِلاَwithout حُمرٍdonkeys وشَاةًand a sheep بِلاغَنَمwithout sheep
حماراً بِلاَ حُمرٍ وشَاةً بِلاغَنَم
So if the law requires me to buy
a donkey though I have no donkeys, and a sheep though I have no sheep,
فَسَمعاًthen, heed وطَوعاًand willing obedience بالذيto that which فِيهِis in it عَاجِلاًat once
فَسَمعاً وطَوعاً بالذي فِيهِ عَاجِلاً
وإلاَّand if not فَمَحواًthen, erasure بالدَّوَاةِwith the inkwell وبِالقَلَمِand with the pen
وإلاَّ فَمَحواً بالدَّوَاةِ وبِالقَلَمِ
then I shall promptly heed and obey what it says;
otherwise, let it be erased with inkwell and pen.
