قالواthey said تَرَفَّضتَyou have become a Rafidite قُلتُI said: كَلّاnot at all
مَاnot الرَّفْضُRafidism دِينيmy religion وَلاَnor اعْتِقَادِيmy creed
They said, “You have become a Rāfiḍī.” I said, “Never!”
They said, “You have become a Rafidite.” I said, “Not at all!”
Rafḍ is neither my religion nor my creed.
Rafidism is neither my religion nor my creed.
لكنْbut تَوَلَّيتُI pledged allegiance غيرwithout شكَّdoubt
خيرَthe best إمامٍimam وخيرَand the best هاديguide
Yet, without the slightest doubt, I have pledged allegiance
But I have pledged allegiance, without doubt,
to the best of imams and the best of guides.
To the best imam and the best guide.
إنْif كانَis حُبُّlove for الْوَلِيِّthe guardian رَفْضاًRafidism
فإنَّthen indeed رفضيmy Rafidism إلىto العبادِhumankind
If love for the walī is Rafḍ,
If loving the guardian is Rafidism,
then before all humankind I avow my Rafḍ.
Then my Rafidism is unto humankind.
