For my sustenance, I have placed my trust in God, my Creator.

And I am certain that God is, without doubt, my Provider.

And whatever sustenance is mine will not pass me by,

Even if it were at the bottom of the deep seas.

God, the Great, will bring it by His grace,

Even if my tongue were not to speak.

So over what should the soul waste away in grief,

When the Most Merciful has already apportioned the creatures’ sustenance?
