الْمَرْءُa man يَحْظَىgains favor ثُمَّthen يَعْلُوrises ذِكْرُهُhis renown
الْمَرْءُ يَحْظَى ثُمَّ يَعْلُو ذِكْرُهُ
حَتَّىuntil يُزَيَّنَhe is adorned بِالَّذِيwith what لَمْnot يَفْعَلِhe did
حَتَّى يُزَيَّنَ بِالَّذِي لَمْ يَفْعَلِ
A man gains favor, then his renown rises,
Until he is adorned with deeds he never did.
وَتَرَىand you see الْغَنِيَّthe rich man إِذَاwhen تَكَامَلَbecomes complete مَالُهُhis wealth
وَتَرَى الْغَنِيَّ إِذَا تَكَامَلَ مَالُهُ
يُخْشَىhe is feared وَيُنْحَلُand he is credited with كُلَّall مَاthat which لَمْnot يَعْمَلِhe performed
يُخْشَى وَيُنْحَلُ كُلَّ مَا لَمْ يَعْمَلِ
And you see the rich man, when his wealth is complete,
Feared and credited with every deed he never performed.
