نَفسي فداءُ رسولِ الله يومَ أتى

نَفسي فداءُ رسولِ الله يومَ أتى

جبريلُ يأمرُ بالتبليغِ إعلانا

جبريلُ يأمرُ بالتبليغِ إعلانا

May my soul be a ransom for God's Messenger, on the day there came

Gabriel, commanding him to proclaim the message openly:

إن لم تبلِّغ فما بلغتَ فانتصب ال

إن لم تبلِّغ فما بلغتَ فانتصب ال

نبيُّ ممتثلاً أمراً لمن دانا

نبيُّ ممتثلاً أمراً لمن دانا

'If you do not proclaim it, you have not conveyed it.' Then arose the

Prophet, obeying a command of Him to whom he submitted.

وقال للناسِ من مَولاكُم قبلا

وقال للناسِ من مَولاكُم قبلا

يومَ الغدير فقالوا أنت مولانا

يومَ الغدير فقالوا أنت مولانا

And he asked the people, 'Who has been your master until now?'

On the day of Ghadir, they said, 'You are our master;

أنت الرسولُ ونحن الشاهدونَ على

أنت الرسولُ ونحن الشاهدونَ على

أن قد نصحتَ وقد بَيَّنتَ تِبيانا

أن قد نصحتَ وقد بَيَّنتَ تِبيانا

you are the Messenger, and we bear witness

that you have given sincere counsel and explained with perfect clarity.'

هذا وليُّكم بعدي أمرتُ به

هذا وليُّكم بعدي أمرتُ به

حَتماً فكونوا له حِزباً وأعوانا

حَتماً فكونوا له حِزباً وأعوانا

'This is your guardian after me; I was commanded to do this

as a binding duty; so be his party and helpers.

هذا أبرُّكم بِرّاً وأكثرُكُم

هذا أبرُّكم بِرّاً وأكثرُكُم

عِلماً وأوُّلُكم باللهِ إيمانا

عِلماً وأوُّلُكم باللهِ إيمانا

This man surpasses you all in righteousness, and is the greatest of you

in knowledge, and the first of you to believe in God.

هذا له قُربةٌ منّي ومنزلةٌ

هذا له قُربةٌ منّي ومنزلةٌ

كانت لهارونَ من موسى بن عمرانا

كانت لهارونَ من موسى بن عمرانا

This man is close to me and holds a rank

such as Aaron held with Moses, son of Imran.'
