إن امرأ خصمُه أبو حسن

لَعازِبُ الرأي داحضُ الحُجَجِ

Indeed, a man whose adversary is Abu Hasan—

Indeed, a man whose adversary is Abu Hasan

is surely astray in judgment, his arguments refuted.

Is surely astray in judgment, his arguments unsound.

لا يقبلُ اللهُ منه معذرةً

لا يقبلُ اللهُ منه معذرةً

ولا تُلاقيه حُجَّةُ الفَلجِ

ولا تُلاقيه حُجَّةُ الفَلجِ

God accepts no excuse from him,

God will accept no excuse from him,

nor shall the argument of triumph ever meet him.

Nor will a winning argument come to his aid.
