I left the son of Khawla, not out of aversion,
I left Ibn Khawla not out of boredom
And I am indeed like an infatuated lover.
And I am to him like a towering palm tree
وإنّيand indeed I لهto him حافظٌfaithful فيin المَغيبِabsence
وإنّي له حافظٌ في المَغيبِ

And I remain faithful to him in his absence;
And I am still his protector when absent
I profess what he professed concerning al-Sadiq.
I owe what he owes to the Truthful

He is the scholar, the scholar of the sons of Hashim,
He is the ink of the Hashemites
And a light from the King, the Provider.
And a light from the Giving King

Like one who turned away, after guidance was made clear,
Like one who, after the clarity of guidance
Toward Habtar and Abu Hamiq.
Turns to nonsense and stupidity
