وأول مؤمنٍ صلَّى وزَكّى

وأول مؤمنٍ صلَّى وزَكّى

بخاتَمهِ على رَغمِ الكُفورِ

بخاتَمهِ على رَغمِ الكُفورِ

And the first believer to pray and give alms,

With his ring, in defiance of the unbeliever.

وقد وجبَ الولاءُ له علينا

وقد وجبَ الولاءُ له علينا

بذلك في الجِهار وفي الضَّميرِ

بذلك في الجِهار وفي الضَّميرِ

And allegiance to him has indeed become incumbent upon us,

For that, both openly and in our hearts.

وأخبرنا الإلهُ بما وَقاهمْ

وأخبرنا الإلهُ بما وَقاهمْ

ولقَّاهم هناك من السُّرورِ

ولقَّاهم هناك من السُّرورِ

And God told us what He protected them from,

And what joy He bestowed upon them there.

وأكرمهم لِما صبروا جميعاً

وأكرمهم لِما صبروا جميعاً

بجنّابٍ وألوانِ الحريرِ

بجنّابٍ وألوانِ الحريرِ

And honored them all for their patient endurance,

With a courtyard (reading uncertain) and silks of many kinds.

فلا شمساً يَرون ولا حَميماً

فلا شمساً يَرون ولا حَميماً

ولا غَسّاقَ بين الزمهريرِ

ولا غَسّاقَ بين الزمهريرِ

So they see neither sun nor scalding water,

Nor foul discharge amid the bitter cold.
