عليّ إمامٌ وصيُّ النبيِّ

عليّ إمامٌ وصيُّ النبيِّ

بمحضَرَه قد دعاهُ أميرا

بمحضَرَه قد دعاهُ أميرا

Ali is an imam, the Prophet's appointed successor.

In his presence, he indeed called him commander.

وكان الخصيصَ به في الحياةِ

وكان الخصيصَ به في الحياةِ

فصاهَرَهُ واجتباه عَشيرا

فصاهَرَهُ واجتباه عَشيرا

And he was his intimate companion in life,

So he became his kinsman by marriage and chose him as a close companion.
