قد أفتنت في حبها رهطها

She passed us, trailing her mantle.

She passed by with her flowing dress

She had bewitched her clan with love for her.

Having captivated her companions with her love

واشترطت إتلاف عشاقها

واشترطت إتلاف عشاقها

فكلهم ملتزم شرطها

And she stipulated her lovers’ destruction;

And demanded the destruction of her lovers

So every one of them abides by her condition.

So they all pledged to fulfill her condition

واستخبرت عني عذارى بنا

And about me she questioned the maiden daughters

The young women of our tribe asked about me

Of her paternal uncle, then questioned her circle of companions.

Then asked her maidservant

And all of them told of a rank

And they all spoke of my position

That is mine in love, granted to no one else.

In love - none but me has attained it

Have doubted any intention, nor disparaged it
