فلأشهرنso I shall surely brandish عليكagainst you منهfrom it قصائداpoems
فلأشهرن عليك منه قصائدا
لحسبنthey would surely be reckoned أسيافاswords وهنthough they are قصائدpoems
لحسبن أسيافا وهن قصائد
So I shall surely brandish poems from it against you,
They would surely be taken for swords, though they are poems.
فيهاin them لأعناقfor the necks of الئامthe ignoble دوامغcrushing blows
فيها لأعناق الئام دوامغ
تبقىendure وأعناقand the necks of الكرامthe noble قلائدnecklaces
تبقى وأعناق الكرام قلائد
In them are crushing blows for the necks of the ignoble,
Which endure, and necklaces for the necks of the noble.
