خفقَتْ رايةُ الصبَّاحِ وللنا

فأَضاءَت حنادسُ الظَّلماءِ
It flashed before the eyes after blackness,
It gleamed before the eyes after being black,
and the pitch-black depths of darkness shone.
And the depths of the dark night lit up.
واستقَرَّتْand it settled تحتَbeneath الرَّمادِthe ashes فَخِيلَتْand so it seemed
واستقَرَّتْ تحتَ الرَّمادِ فَخِيلَتْ
ذَهَباًgold تحتَbeneath فِضَّةٍsilver بَيضاءِwhite
ذَهَباً تحتَ فِضَّةٍ بَيضاءِ
