And many a one is veiled by water from every onlooker,

yet it is snatched away from its veils.

We barred their way with eyes

lying in wait, except that they never blink.

So they brought in a catch of varied kinds, and never ceased

gathering its scattered ones and bringing them together.

The white-backed ones clasp those eyes, as though they were

daggers bending in our right hands.
