أيا قلب إن إلزمتني حب غيرهم

تبرأ سرى من هواك وإعلاني

تبرأ سرى من هواك وإعلاني

O heart, if you compel me to love anyone but them,

Oh my heart, if you force me to love another

my private and public selves will renounce your passion.

My innermost being will disavow your passion and my confession

ويا ناظري إن كنت تنكرُ حسنهم

ويا ناظري إن كنت تنكرُ حسنهم

وإحسانهم ما أنت عندي بإنساني

وإحسانهم ما أنت عندي بإنساني

And O my eye, if you deny their beauty

And oh my eyes, if you deny their beauty

and their kindness, I do not count you as my eye’s pupil.

And their kindness, you are not human in my view
