  1. بنفسي خده المحمر أضحت

    عليه شامةٌ شرط المحبه

    My life for his reddened cheek! Now there is

    Upon it a mole, the mark of love.

  2. كأن الحسن يعشقه قديماً

    فنقطه بدينار وحبه

    As though Beauty had loved him long ago,

    And tipped him with a dinar and a grain.
