My friends were astonished that I wandered on

My heart beside me, despite my burning anguish and longing.

While my heart was not with me, despite my burning and longing.

فقلت لهم سيروا فإني لم أخف

فقلت لهم سيروا فإني لم أخف

عليه وقد أودعته لأمين

عليه وقد أودعته لأمين

So I said to them, “Go on, for I did not fear

I said to them, “Go on, for I have not concealed it;

For it, having entrusted it to a trustworthy one.”

I left it in the safekeeping of the Trustworthy One.”
