أقول إذ نالنا في بر مصر عني

أقول إذ نالنا في بر مصر عني

لما أتينا إلى الأهرام في الظلم

لما أتينا إلى الأهرام في الظلم

I say, when hardship befell us in the land of Egypt,

I say, when in Egypt's land we obtained help for the eye,

When we came to the pyramids in the darkness:

When we came unto pyramids amid the gloom,

أتى الزمان بنوه في شبيبته

أتى الزمان بنوه في شبيبته

فسرهم وأتيناه على الهرم

فسرهم وأتيناه على الهرم

Time's sons came to him in his youth,

Time brought its sons in their youth,

So he gladdened them; we came to him in his old age.

So they went past them, while we climbed the pyramid.
