And when we looked for the crescent, there appeared to us

the face of a beloved who had never left my thoughts.

فقلت عجيبٌ أن يرى البدر هكذا

So I said, “How strange that the full moon should be seen thus—

in its fullness, while we are now at the beginning of the month!”
