وصاحب قطب من مزحنا

وصاحب قطب من مزحنا

بأنه يعلى ولا يعلو

بأنه يعلى ولا يعلو

And a companion scowled at our teasing

that he is mounted but does not mount.

قال له الآخر لا تنزعج

قال له الآخر لا تنزعج

سيدنا ما عنده فضل

سيدنا ما عنده فضل

The other said to him, “Do not be upset—

our master has nothing to spare.”
