    علو قدري في الهوى انحطا

    Alas, how lonely I am since those neighbors went far away!

    My lofty standing has fallen low in love.

  2. حكت دموعي البحر من بعدهم

    لما رأت منزلهم شطا

    My tears resembled the sea after their departure,

    when they saw that their dwelling had grown distant.
