Dewy, beneficent blossoms;

Before dawn, a breeze over moisture.

طَلَلٌ عَلى خُضرِ الرُبا

مُخضَلَّةٌ ذي مِن طِلَل

مُخضَلَّةٌ ذي مِن طِلَل

A ruin upon the green hills;

These are drenched with dew.

الطَيرُ ناجَت رَبَّها

خُمُلُ الأَصائِلِ في عِلَل

خُمُلُ الأَصائِلِ في عِلَل

The birds communed with their Lord,

Languid at dusk, beset with ailments.

كَأسٌ مُرَوَّقَةٌ صَفَت

كَأسٌ مُرَوَّقَةٌ صَفَت

راقَت بِها مِثلي ثَمِل

راقَت بِها مِثلي ثَمِل

A cup of filtered wine has cleared;

It pleased; with it, one like me grew drunk.

فَتّانُ ساقيها رَشاً

فَتّانُ ساقيها رَشاً

سابٍ هِلالٌ في الحُلَل

سابٍ هِلالٌ في الحُلَل

Its cupbearer is a bewitching gazelle fawn,

A captivating crescent moon in robes.

وَجَناتُهُ وَرداتُ في

وَجَناتُهُ وَرداتُ في

جَنّاتِ تُجنى بِالقُبَل

جَنّاتِ تُجنى بِالقُبَل

His cheeks are roses in

Gardens, plucked with kisses.

غَنَّت قِيانٌ بَينَنا

غَنَّت قِيانٌ بَينَنا

ذُقنا أَطايِبَ مِن أُكُل

ذُقنا أَطايِبَ مِن أُكُل

Slave songstresses sang among us;

We tasted the choicest of foods.

الوَقتُ صافٍ رائِقٌ

الوَقتُ صافٍ رائِقٌ

كُلٌّ بِهِ نالَ الأَمَل

كُلٌّ بِهِ نالَ الأَمَل

The moment is clear and serene;

In it, everyone attained his hope.

طوبى زَهٍ بَخ حَبَّذا

بِسِواهُ ما ضُرِبَ المَثَل

بِسِواهُ ما ضُرِبَ المَثَل

Bliss! Bravo! Splendid! How delightful!
