فلولاso, were it not for السَّرِيُّal-Sari الهاشميُّthe Hashimite وسيفُهُand his sword
فلولا السَّرِيُّ الهاشميُّ وسيفُهُ
أعادَwould have repeated عُبّيَدُUbayd اللهAllah يوماًa day of battle علىupon عُكلِUkl
أعادَ عُبّيَدُ الله يوماً على عُكلِ
Had it not been for the noble Hashimite and his sword,
Were it not for al-Sari the Hashimite and his sword,
ʿUbayd Allāh would have brought a day of battle once more upon ʿUkl.
Ubayd Allah would have brought another day of battle upon Ukl.
