Ah, would that I knew: will my she-camel yearn

at Khabt, with laden camels departing at evening ahead of me?

She grazed in spring at al-Sidan and al-Awq, when both

were a dwelling-place for clans, and life was good.

And nothing slakes al-Sidan at the beginning of forenoon,

nor al-Awq, but a pouring cloud with an overflowing eye.
