فلما تبينَّتُ أنّي التمسُ من

So when I realized that I was seeking from

When I saw that I sought from the people

people something remote and hard to attain,

A thing most remote and ungainly,

فزعتُ إلى الأنس بالانفرا

فزعتُ إلى الأنس بالانفرا

د فكان التقلل منهم كثيرا

د فكان التقلل منهم كثيرا

I sought refuge in the solace of soli-

I turned in companionship to solitude,

tude; and having less of them proved to be more.

So belittling them was plenteous.
