Radiant, noble chiefs ruled Time and held sway

over it, wherever the shade of justice lay outspread.

Mankind surged with them amid a blessing; cherished

were its shades, and generosity watered its boughs.

So some of them graze in heedless ease,

and others sing sweetly amid those great trees.

No feast day ever stands out in their lands,

since all their days, in their beauty, are a feast.

To them, praise is kinship, and seeking them

is a favor in their eyes; generosity's horizon is sought.

They never first showed kindness to anyone

without their ancestral honor telling them, 'Do it again.'

    على عُلاه استدار العِترةُ الصيد

    And their Qutb is their pole in every noble deed;

around his eminence the proud kindred revolve.
