It subdues the king of time and humbles him.

Love has dominion, mighty in its stature.

Love has great authoritative power,

Whatever words it speaks, my heart listens.

إن يغر بالهجران مالك مهجتي

أقبل إليه بحالتي أتضرع

If the master of my lifeblood grows fond of estrangement,

If it allures with estrangement, the owner of my inner self,

I turn to him, for all my standing, pleading.

I come to it with my condition pleading.
