فلست على العلات منها أخاكف
God has indeed spread acts of generosity from my palm;
God has spread generosity from my palm
so, despite adversity, I am not one to hold back from them.
So I am not stingy with it towards my brother

يميني قد أسرفت ظالمتي كفى
The treasuries cry out at her excessive giving,
The houses of wealth call out from abundant spending
to my right hand: 'You have spent too freely, my oppressor—stop!'
My right hand has been excessive, my palm has done enough

ولاand not ترتضيshe accepts خلاa close friend يقولsays لهاto her يكفيit is enough
ولا ترتضي خلا يقول لها يكفي
So my right hand is spurred to generosity and pours forth,
So my right hand is tempted by generosity and voracious
and accepts no friend who tells her, 'Enough.'
And does not accept emptiness saying "enough"

By your life, extravagance is not an innate trait in me;
By your life, extravagance is not in my nature
yet to me, a miserly nature is like death.
But the trait of stinginess in me is like death
