وليل ظللنا فيه نعمل كأسنا

And through a night we lingered, plying our cup,

And one night we kept our cup at work,

Until, amid the darkness, dawn’s handiwork appeared.

Until dawn's deeds appeared in the night.

وولت نجوم الليل تجرى هزيمةٌ

وجاء فمع الإصباح نصر وإقبال

The stars of night turned and fled in defeat,

And the stars of night turned away, fleeing in defeat,

And with the morning came victory and good fortune.

And dawn came—with daybreak came victory and good fortune.

فقضيت من هذا وذاك لبانةً

فقضيت من هذا وذاك لبانةً

وتم لنا فتحٌ مبينٌ وأمال

وتم لنا فتحٌ مبينٌ وأمال

Thus, from this and that, I satisfied a longing,

So I fulfilled a longing through this and that,

And ours were manifest conquest and hopes fulfilled.

And a clear victory was won for us, and our hopes fulfilled.
