تَعجيلُ جودِ المرءِ أُكرومَةٌ

تَعجيلُ جودِ المرءِ أُكرومَةٌ

تنشرُ عنه أحسنَ الذّكرِ

تنشرُ عنه أحسنَ الذّكرِ

Promptness in a person's generosity is a noble deed,

A man's hastening his generosity is nobleness

which spreads the finest praise of him.

Spreading the best mention of him

والحرُّ لا يمطُلُ معروفَه

والحرُّ لا يمطُلُ معروفَه

ولا يليقُ المَطلُ بالحُرِّ

ولا يليقُ المَطلُ بالحُرِّ

And a noble man does not delay his kindness,

The free man does not delay his favor

nor is delay fitting for a noble man.

And delaying does not befit the noble
