إذ بجمال الوجهِ ردّاكا

May the Lord of humankind bless you, bless you,

Greetings, O Lord of mankind, greetings

for He clothed you in beauty of face.

For with the beauty of Your face have You returned

بغدادُ من نورك قد أشرَقَت

بغدادُ من نورك قد أشرَقَت

وأورقَ العودُ بِجدواك

وأورقَ العودُ بِجدواك

Baghdad has grown radiant from your light,

Baghdad has shone brightly with Your light

and the bough has put forth leaves through your bounty.

And the lute tree has come into leaf with Your presence
