أَرِقتُ لَهُ لَيلَ التمامِ وَدونَهُ
مَهامِهُvast wastes مَومَاةٍof a waterless desert وَأَرضٌand land بَلاقِعُdesolate
مَهامِهُ مَومَاةٍ وَأَرضٌ بَلاقِعُ
I lay sleepless for it through the longest winter night; between me and it lay
Vast expanses of waterless desert and desolate land.
