كَسَوناهاwe clothed her مِنَfrom الريطِthe cloth wraps اليَمانيYemeni
كَسَوناها مِنَ الريطِ اليَماني
مُسوحاًhaircloth robes فيin بَنائِقِهاtheir gussets فُضولُsurplus fabric
مُسوحاً في بَنائِقِها فُضولُ
We clad her in Yemeni mantles,
We clothed her in Yemeni cloth,
broad and flowing, their gussets full of ample folds.
in haircloth robes with surplus fabric in their gussets;
وَهَدَّمناand we demolished صَوامِعَtowers شَيَّدَتهاhad built them
وَهَدَّمنا صَوامِعَ شَيَّدَتها
لَهاfor her حَبَبٌbubbles مَخالِطُهاmingling with them نَجيلُwater
لَها حَبَبٌ مَخالِطُها نَجيلُ
And we demolished the monastic towers raised for her
and demolished towers built
by Abyssinians, with turf intermingled in them.
