وَرَدّواand they turned back صُدورَchests الخَيلِthe horses حَتّىuntil تَنَهنَهَتthey drew back
وَرَدّوا صُدورَ الخَيلِ حَتّى تَنَهنَهَت
إِلىtoward ذيthe possessor of النُهىsound judgment وَاِستَيقَهواand they obeyed لِلمُحَلِّمِto the counselor of restraint
إِلى ذي النُهى وَاِستَيقَهوا لِلمُحَلِّمِ
They turned the horses’ chests back until they recoiled
And they turned back the horses’ chests until they drew back
toward the man of wisdom; and they were certain it was for Muḥallim.
toward the man of sound judgment, and obeyed the counselor of restraint.
