فَإِن تَكُ نالَتنا كِلابٌ بِغَزَّةٍ

فَإِن تَكُ نالَتنا كِلابٌ بِغَزَّةٍ

فَيَومُكَ مِنهُم بِالمَضيقَةِ أَبرَدُ

فَيَومُكَ مِنهُم بِالمَضيقَةِ أَبرَدُ

For if Kilab have struck us at Ghazzah,

If we are assailed by the dogs with violence,

then your day at their hands at al-Madiqah was more chilling.

Then for them your day will be the coldest at the strait.

هُمو قَتَلوا يَومَ المَضيقَةِ مالِكاً

هُمو قَتَلوا يَومَ المَضيقَةِ مالِكاً

وَشاطَ بِأَيديهِم لَقيطٌ وَمَعبَدُ

وَشاطَ بِأَيديهِم لَقيطٌ وَمَعبَدُ

It was they who killed Malik on the day of al-Madiqah,

They killed Malik on the day of the strait,

and Laqit and Ma'bad perished at their hands.

And Laqit and Ma'bad were mangled by their hands.
