    Stop blaming me, for I have no apology to offer.

    For in love there is no blame or shame.

    Can this reproach help a bewildered soul,

    While my heart is filled with the heat of fire?

    بَهيَّاتٍ بكفي جلَّنارِ

    And a cup I was given to drink before faces

    Radiant, from Jullanar's two hands;

    From the hand of one bewitched by beauty's charm,

    Whose likeness outshines pearls against pitch.

    So we cannot tell whether his radiant brow shows us

    The whiteness of dawn or the color of wine.
