فلا تعنَّ لتحذيفٍ تَكَلَّفُهُ

لصورةٍ حسنُها الأصليُّ يكفيها

So do not trouble yourself with painstaking hair-trimming

Pay no heed to the idle babble fabricated,

for a face whose natural beauty suffices.

The original image's beauty is enough for it.

إن الدنانير لا تُجلَى وإن عتقت

إن الدنانير لا تُجلَى وإن عتقت

ولا تُزاد على النقش الذي فيها

ولا تُزاد على النقش الذي فيها

Indeed, dinars are not polished, even if they grow old,

Coins gain no worth when set free,

nor are they embellished beyond the engraving they bear.

Nor added value from the stamp therein.
