ارحمhave mercy on فديتُكmay I be your ransom عاشقاًa lover
ارحم فديتُك عاشقاً
قدindeed صارhas become للبلوىfor affliction هَدَفa target
قد صار للبلوى هَدَف
Have mercy—may I ransom you—on a lover
Have mercy—may I be your ransom—on a lover
Who has become a target for affliction.

أنتyou الذيthe one who أدنفتَهyou made him gravely ill
أنت الذي أدنفتَه
فكنso be الطبيبَthe physician منfrom الدَّنَفwasting sickness
فكن الطبيبَ من الدَّنَف
You are the one who made him waste away;
You are the one who made him gravely ill;
So be the physician for his wasting sickness.
So be the physician to cure his wasting sickness.
ياO واحداًone peerless فيin حسنهhis beauty
يا واحداً في حسنه
صيَّرتَنيyou have made me نهبprey التلفdestruction
صيَّرتَني نهب التلف
O you, peerless in beauty,
O one peerless in his beauty,
You have made me the plunder of destruction.
You have made me prey to destruction.
