مَليحُ القَدِّ والحَدَقَهْ

مَليحُ القَدِّ والحَدَقَهْ

بديعٌ والذي خلقَهْ

بديعٌ والذي خلقَهْ

Lovely in stature and eye,

Beautiful are his stature and eyelashes

Wondrous, by Him who created him.

Exquisite is he who created him

له خالٌ بوجنته

له خالٌ بوجنته

يقطِّع قلبَ مَن عشِقَه

يقطِّع قلبَ مَن عشِقَه

He has a beauty mark on his cheek

He has a mole on his cheek

That tears apart the heart of whoever loves him.

That cuts the hearts of those who love him

له صُدغانِ من حُسنٍ

له صُدغانِ من حُسنٍ

على الخدينِ كالحَلَقَه

على الخدينِ كالحَلَقَه

He has two beautiful sidelocks,

He has two temples of beauty

Upon his cheeks, like a ring.

On his cheeks like a ring

تراه الدهرَ يُنصفني

تراه الدهرَ يُنصفني

ويُوليني من الشَّفَقَه

ويُوليني من الشَّفَقَه

Do you think he will ever treat me fairly

You see him, time does me justice

And grant me some compassion?

And gives me sympathy
