أكلتُ رُمانةً فعاتبني

I ate a pomegranate; then a youth reproached me—

فقلت لا بل أمصُّ من ريقِهْ
He said, “The beloved’s cheek—and you eat it?”
Then he said, "You are eating the beloved's cheek!"
I said, “No; rather, I suck some of his saliva.”
