فِدىً لِلفارِسِ الجُشَميَّ نَفسي

فِدىً لِلفارِسِ الجُشَميَّ نَفسي

وَأَفديهِ بِمَن لي مِن حَميمِ

وَأَفديهِ بِمَن لي مِن حَميمِ

Let my soul be a ransom for the Jushamite horseman.

My soul I sacrifice for the noble knight Al-Jashami

And I would ransom him with every loved one I have.

And I ransom him with those most dear to me

وَأَفديهِ بِكُلِّ بَني سُلَيمٍ

وَأَفديهِ بِكُلِّ بَني سُلَيمٍ

بِظاعِنهِم وَبِالأَنَسِ المُقيمِ

بِظاعِنهِم وَبِالأَنَسِ المُقيمِ

And I would ransom him with all the sons of Sulaym,

And I ransom him with every tribe of Sulaym

With their travelers and the settled folk.

With their warriors and bosom friends steadfast and true

خَصَصتُ بِها أَخا الأَحرارِ قَيساً

خَصَصتُ بِها أَخا الأَحرارِ قَيساً

فَتىً في بَيتِ مَكرُمَةٍ كَريمِ

فَتىً في بَيتِ مَكرُمَةٍ كَريمِ

For this ransom I singled out Qays, brother of the freeborn,

I have singled him out, brother of the free, Qays

A youth in a noble house of honor.

A gallant youth of the house of generous decree
