نَسَبتم الظُلم لِعُمالكم

وَنُمتم عَن قُبح أَعمالَكُم
You attributed oppression to your officials,
You blamed injustice on your workers,
And slept, heedless of the ugliness of your deeds.
And slept ignoring the ugliness of your deeds,

عُمالكم إِلّا كَأَعمالَكم
Do not attribute tyranny to them, for
Do not blame them for tyranny, for
Your officials are but like your deeds.
Your workers are but a reflection of yourselves,

By God, if you ruled for an hour,
By God, if you were to rule but an hour,
Justice would not cross your minds.
Justice would not cross your minds.
